That will enable them to become independent learners! Students know what to do and are all doing well with these established routines. As the year progresses, we will be adding different centers to our workshops that will continue to foster literacy and independence.<br /> In math, we are working on combinations of 10, doubling, and adding number strings. Tomorrow we will begin a recurring activity - How many pockets? - to help us with our counting strategies.<br /> After giving a general overview of science process skills, such as observing, communicating, and inferring, we are beginning a unit on matter. Ask your child for examples of matter. They already know that matter is anything that takes up space, including air!<br /> I also wanted to say thank you to the families who have sent in snack for the class. Everyone really appreciates it and looks forward to it each day. <br />I am thrilled with how our class is working and learning together. It is a joy to come in each day! Our classroom is ready and waiting for you. It was hard work getting everything ready for our first day.
